Home Education Network Ireland presents a seminar for teens and parents.

Navigating the education system as a Home Educator

15th March 2018, 10.30am to 3pm

Sheraton Hotel, Athlone

This event is open to adults and teens only as there is a lot to cover on the day and so parents and teens can give it their full attention. Pre-booking is essential.

Over recent years our volunteer contacts have received an increasing number of calls from families looking for an alternative to secondary school education. We hope that this event will provide a day for home educators considering formal examinations to explore the options open to them.

Speakers on the day will include:

  • TUSLA on the home education registration and assessment process.
  • State Examination Commission on the practical issues around sitting the Junior and Leaving Cert.
  • Educational Training Board on how to access FETAC/QQI courses.
  • Home educating families on their experiences of examinations and access to third-level colleges.

PLUS an opportunity to network with other home educating parents and share information.

Ticket costs:

HEN members: €5 (per family)

Non HEN members: €12.50 (per family)
