Join HEN and help to support home education in Ireland
HEN Ireland is co-ordinated by a small voluntary committee, elected annually by its members.
But the true strength of HEN lies in the members themselves!
Together we can offer support and advice to one another, arrange meet-ups, workshops, outings and events.
HEN Ireland is seeing its membership rise every year as more families opt for home education. The more families that JOIN or RENEW their membership with HEN the stronger we become! And the more able we are to represent our diverse community and the many wonderful ways there are to approach home education.
HEN Ireland is a recognised body meaning that the committee is in prime position to liaise with government departments on general home education issues. For example, we recently had a very positive workshop with Tusla to help assessors gain a clearer understanding of the unschooling approach to home education.
When you first join HEN you will receive a Welcome Pack, which includes a Guide to the Registration Process, Regional Contacts and a list of members (updated annually). By renewing your membership with HEN, not only will you be a part of a growing home education community, you will also be supporting an organisation that offers advice to families just starting out in home education and that maintains regular contact with government departments to discuss general home education issues.
HEN Ireland runs a private Facebook group for members to network easily with one another. We would encourage you to ask questions, share resources and ideas, advise of local meet-ups, organise a workshop or even arrange national outings! HEN aims to support its members in these activities as much as possible. We are currently able to provide insurance for HEN member meet-ups if required and even offer funding towards workshops organised by HEN members.
